I’m very pleased to announce “The Runaway,” one of my recent short stories, was published this morning in the July 2018, Volume 4, Issue 2, of The Literary Nest.

short story “The Runaway,” published in The Literary Nest (July 2018, vol. 4, # 2), I like. I like the way it’s structured, the line of storytelling, the prose (simple, unadorned) and the use of the passing time, written in a switch time fashion. I also like the characterization of the protagonist (Carolyn Martin). The story is narrated in the third person by an omniscient POV limited to Carolyn. It spans from childhood to late middle-aged in Carolyn’s life, taking the times when things were not going well for her and tried to run away. The ending doesn’t resonate but it’s fair.
